Custom Branded Gift Boxes: The Lead Time That Decides Your Fourth Quarter

There is a gap in the search data that explains most of what goes wrong with corporate gifting in the fourth quarter.

Every way of asking the deadline question returns effectively no search volume in the United States. "Corporate holiday gift deadline." "When to order corporate holiday gifts." "Branded corporate gifts lead time." "Corporate gifting timeline." Google Ads data via DataForSEO returns nothing measurable for any of them.

Now look at what people do search. "Corporate christmas gifts for clients" runs at about 260 a month and peaks at 1,000 in December. "Thanksgiving gifts for employees" runs at about 210 and peaks at 1,600 in November. In both cases the peak arrives after the branded lane has closed — the last safe branded Thanksgiving start is in October, and the last safe branded Christmas start is in the third week of November.

Nobody looks for the deadline. Everybody meets it late. This page is the answer to the question that has no search volume.

What "custom branded" actually means here

It means your artwork on the physical presentation: the box, the satin ribbon and the printed note card. It is not a themed seasonal print we hold in stock, and it is not a logo stamped on the products inside — the products are real named brands and stay as they are.

That distinction matters for the schedule. Branding a box is a print job with a plate, a proof and a queue, and it happens before a single item is placed in a box.

Where the 7 to 14 business days go

Custom-branded orders add 7 to 14 business days of production before packing begins. That window is not padding. In order:

  • Proof. We send artwork back to you as a proof before anything is printed. This is the step that most often adds a week, because it needs somebody on your side to look at it and reply.
  • Plate. A print plate is made for your artwork. It carries a one-time $75 charge, which is the plate at cost. It is not charged again when you renew with the same artwork, because the plate already exists; new or changed artwork means a new plate.
  • Print run and cure. The boxes, ribbon and cards are produced and have to be dry and stacked before anyone can pack into them.

The clock starts at artwork approval, not at the order. This is the single most expensive misunderstanding in corporate gifting. A purchase order raised on the 1st with artwork approved on the 14th is a job that started on the 14th.

After production, the normal calendar applies: packing, then tracked ground. Outside the hand-delivery footprint, or under 50 boxes, orders ship tracked ground and arrive one to five business days after packing. Orders of 50 or more delivering to Los Angeles, Orange, San Diego, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura counties are hand-delivered free on the day packing completes.

The 2026 dates that fall out of it

  • Custom-branded, before Thanksgiving — order by Friday, October 23. Production wraps around November 12 and the boxes arrive by Friday, November 20. Thanksgiving is Thursday, November 26.
  • Custom-branded, before Christmas — order by Friday, November 20. Production wraps around December 14, ships by the December 17 cutoff and arrives December 23 to 24.
  • Non-branded, shipped nationwide, before Christmas — order by Monday, December 14. Packed within 72 hours, then tracked ground.

Note where the branded Thanksgiving date sits: October 23 is eight days before Halloween. By the time the office puts a bowl of sweets out, that lane has been shut for over a week. We wrote about that specific collision on our Halloween page, which has no Halloween product on it at all.

If you have already missed a branded date

There is no paid rush lane here and no overnight option, so a date that has gone cannot be bought back. What is left is genuinely fine:

  • Unbranded now beats branded late. A box that lands while people are still in the office does its job. A branded box that arrives on December 28 does not.
  • Move the branding to the card. A printed note card is a smaller print job than a full box run, and in most cases it is the part the recipient actually reads.
  • Send the branded order for the next occasion instead. If Christmas is gone, a January or new-year send arrives in an empty inbox rather than a full one, and the plate you pay for once is then already made.

The way to stop having this conversation every year

All of the above is the cost of deciding branded work in the same six weeks that everything else is due. The Annual Corporate Gifting Program moves that decision to the quiet part of the year: artwork is approved once, we produce and store the branded inventory, and each gift ships when you send recipient details at least seven days ahead. Program Essential is $155 per gift regularly and $124 at the 100-gift program rate; Signature is $220 and $176; Reserve is $335 and $268. Reserving 100 gifts for the year takes 20% off the per-box price, and 100 gifts is where the program starts — across all your occasions, not per event.

Below that, a straight order is the right shape and there is no annual commitment either way. If you want the branding without the program, custom corporate gift boxes is the page for it.

Frequently asked

How long do custom branded gift boxes take?
Add 7 to 14 business days of production before packing begins, starting at artwork approval rather than at the order. Then packing, then one to five business days on tracked ground after packing.

What does the branding cost?
There is a one-time $75 charge covering the print plate for your artwork, confirmed in your proposal, and it is not charged again on a renewal with the same artwork. The rest of the branding is quoted with the order.

What is the last day to order branded corporate gifts for Christmas 2026?
Friday, November 20. Production wraps around December 14 and the boxes arrive December 23 to 24.

Can you brand the products inside the box?
No. The products are named brands and stay in their own packaging. Your artwork goes on the box, the ribbon and the note card, which is the part of the parcel a recipient sees first.
