For People Ops & HR

Day-1 matters more than you think. Don't ship their kit Day-3.

A welcome kit that arrives before standup — in a one-hour delivery window, in every state.

Who it's for — Heads of People at Series-B SaaS companies running 50–150 remote hires a year who are tired of 'it'll arrive when it arrives.'

The Day-1 welcome-kit promise

On your new hire's doorstep the morning of Day 1 — guaranteed.

Late kits perform close to a no-kit baseline on day-1 engagement — so a missed date is a missed onboarding moment. We won't let that happen. Lock in the start date, we hit it.

  • Individual remote-hire kits: tracked ground

One-off welcome kits prep in 72 hours, then ship tracked ground to any US address. Usually 1–3 days inside SoCal, 2–5 days CONUS. Scheduled to land the morning they log in.

  • 50+ onboarding cohorts: SoCal hand-delivery

Quarterly onboarding batches or full new-hire classes in LA / OC / SD unlock same-day hand-delivery on the prep-complete day — across the whole cohort.

  • Address-less sending for remote hires

Send the link, the recipient enters their own address and size preferences, kit is on the way the hour the prep wraps.

Requires 10 business days' notice for branded kits, 5 business days for non-branded. Address must be collected by kit-build cutoff.

The problem, and the fix

What breaks today. What we do differently.

Pain

A welcome kit that lands after Day 1 doesn't just miss the moment — it performs close to a no-kit baseline on day-1 engagement signals. Your new hire is venting in Slack, not posting the unboxing to LinkedIn.

What we do

Lock the start date, we lock the Day-1 arrival. Confirm the hire 3 business days out — we prep in 72 hours, then route each kit to land the morning they log in (tracked ground for individual remote hires, same-day SoCal hand-delivery for 50+ onboarding cohorts). Miss it, the kit is on us — full credit, no ticket queue.

Pain

The Sendoso / Reachdesk / Alyce stack adds platform fees, seat licenses, inventory storage, and shipping. You're paying six figures a year before a single kit ships.

What we do

No platform fee. No seat fee. No inventory fee. Our Gift Program subscription is a flat $199–$499/month — the access and the kits are the same line item. Overflow at member pricing.

Pain

Your IT team ships the laptop via Rippling. Swag ships via somebody else. Snacks ship via a third vendor. Your new hire gets three half-boxes on three different days.

What we do

One box, one delivery window, one tracking number. We coordinate with your HRIS (Rippling, Deel, Gusto) so the address flows from offer-accepted to ship-ready without an ops lead on mailing labels every Friday.

Pain

Finance wants ROI language to protect a $200/kit line item. The recognition benchmark is qualitative; the kit budget fight is quarterly.

What we do

The argument for finance isn't qualitative vibes — it's that Day-1 recognition measurably improves early belonging and reduces voluntary turnover in the first year. We put together a one-page ROI brief you can forward, with sourced industry benchmarks your finance partner can pressure-test.

Questions we hear

Answers, not fluff.

How do you ship to remote hires in 15 states?
We collect the address via send-by-link (the hire clicks, enters their address, we ship). No spreadsheet. The hire sees a branded page, not a Sendoso-looking pop-up they distrust. National ship is 2–3 days via ground for the lower 48; overnight available when start dates are tight.
Can we put our logo on the kit without it being a commodity screen-printed hoodie?
Yes. Your logo goes on the inside of the lid (included, no charge), on a custom insert card, or on the ribbon. We can also co-pack a branded item you already own (a YETI mug, a hoodie from your preferred swag vendor) alongside our artisan curation. The box doesn't have to be all-us.
Swag vendors already give us branded merch. Why add another vendor?
Different job. SwagUp et al. are great for the conference-booth hoodie. We're for the curated-box moment that isn't about branded merch: Day-1 welcome, anniversary, client gift, remote-team holiday. Most of our HR customers use us for the curated boxes and keep their existing swag vendor for commodity items.
What's the per-kit cost math for a 120-person company?
Mid-market benchmark: $75–$125 per welcome kit, $100–$200 per client gift. A 120-person Series-B SaaS running 60 new hires × $100 + 20 client gifts × $175 + 120 anniversary touches × $45 lands around $20,500/year — which the Growth subscription ($499/month, $4,790/year prepay) handles cleanly with overflow at member pricing.
Which line items does the HR budget owner typically expense this to?
Three common buckets: (1) Onboarding / T&E under the People Ops cost center for welcome kits; (2) Recognition / engagement programs for work-anniversary refreshes; (3) Marketing / ABM co-funded with sales for client-gift batches. We invoice with clear SKU codes so your finance team can split them without chasing you on Slack.
