Conference gifts for attendees
that leave the building with them.
Conference swag bags get emptied into the hotel bin — the tote, the branded pen, the flyer, the stress ball. One curated box of four or five things an attendee actually wants costs more per person and leaves with every one of them.
Hand-packed in Costa Mesa, boxes from $65, shipped to the venue ready to hand out or to each attendee's own address. Orders from 12 boxes.
The arithmetic
Conference swag bags, replaced by one box
A swag bag is a container, and what goes in it is decided by who contributed rather than by what an attendee wants. Twelve items at two dollars each is twenty-four dollars an attendee, and the honest survival rate is one or two of the twelve. The rest is carried as far as the hotel room and no further.
A box inverts it. Four or five real things, chosen because someone three days into a conference would genuinely use them, presented so the box itself is part of the gesture. The per-attendee number goes up; the number of items that reach a desk at home goes up far more, and your brand is on the card rather than on the thing being thrown away.
It also changes who does the work. Boxes arrive at the venue packed and ready to hand out, which removes the part of event week nobody budgets for — the evening in a hotel room stuffing totes. What survives the flight home and what does not is the longer version of this argument, item by item.
Where organisers use it
Every box an event hands out
Attendee welcome, on arrival
On the hotel pillow, at the registration desk, or on each seat for the opening session. Fewer, better things is what makes someone carry it home instead of leaving it for housekeeping.
Speakers, sponsors and VIPs
A separate, fuller box for the people who travelled to be on your stage. Different tier, same brief, one delivery — not a scramble for something nicer the night before.
Sales kickoffs and company offsites
A January SKO is ordered in December. The box is the one part of the agenda people keep, and the lead time is the part that gets forgotten.
Remote attendees and hybrid sessions
The people watching on a screen get the same box, shipped to their own address so it arrives before the session rather than a week after it.
Workshop and training cohorts
A recurring cohort every month is a standing brief rather than a new decision each time. Same box, new list of names.
Post-event thank-yous
The follow-up nobody plans for. A box a fortnight later reaches a desk when every other sponsor's email is already deleted.

Work back from the date
An event date does not move.
Order-by dates do the work.
The box is rarely the problem; the calendar is. A January sales kickoff is a December order, and a custom-branded box for a February conference is a January artwork approval. Tell us the date boxes need to be in the room — not the first day of the event — and we confirm in writing what can be met before you commit.
Ordering in December for a January event is its own problem; the SKO and Q1 offsite timeline walks through it week by week.
Non-branded boxes
Packed within 72 hours of a confirmed order, then normally tracked ground, arriving 1–5 business days after packing.
Custom-branded boxes
Add 7–14 business days of production before packing begins. The clock starts at artwork approval, and we send a proof first.
Local hand delivery
50 or more into our 6-county Southern California footprint are hand-delivered free on the day packing completes. Reserve the wave by 2pm PT, Monday–Thursday.
To the venue or to each attendee
One list either way, at no extra handling charge. We flag a missing or ambiguous address before packing rather than shipping to a guess.
Questions
Conference and event gifting, answered
What are good conference gifts for attendees?
Things an attendee will put in their bag rather than leave in the room: a small number of real items, hand-packed, with a card. Our event edit of the Signature Collection runs The Little Treat (from $65), The Slow Morning (from $79), The Snack Bowl (from $89) — hand-packed in Costa Mesa, CA, ground shipping included. Orders start at 12 boxes, and anything carrying your logo or built to your brief starts at 50.
How is this different from conference swag bags?
A swag bag is a container for whatever sponsors contributed, and most of it is landfill before the attendee reaches the airport. A box is a curated set — four or five things chosen because someone attending a conference would actually want them — presented so it reads as a gift rather than a handout. It costs more per attendee and far less per item that survives the week.
What should we budget per attendee?
Our event boxes run $65–$89 per box, ground shipping included, and most conferences set one band for attendees and a fuller box for speakers and sponsors. If you have a per-head figure already, tell us and we will say plainly what fits it rather than quoting around it.
Can you ship to the venue or hotel instead of to us?
Yes, and it is the usual arrangement — boxes arrive at the venue or hotel ready to hand out, so nobody is assembling bags in a hotel room the night before. We need the receiving contact, the delivery window the venue accepts, and the date. We can also ship to each attendee's own address from one list, at no extra handling charge.
How far ahead do we need to order for a fixed event date?
Non-branded boxes are packed within 72 hours and normally ship tracked ground, arriving 1–5 business days after packing. Custom-branded boxes add 7–14 business days of production before packing begins, and that clock starts at artwork approval rather than at the order. Work back from the date you need boxes in the room, not from the first day of the event, and tell us the date when you ask — we confirm in writing what can be met before you commit.
Do you deliver locally in Southern California?
Orders of 50 or more delivering to Los Angeles, Orange, San Diego, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura counties — our 6-county footprint — are hand-delivered by our team at no delivery charge, on the day packing completes; reserve that wave by 2pm PT, Monday–Thursday. Smaller orders, and anything outside the footprint, ship tracked ground.
Can we put our logo or the event branding on the box?
Yes — inside the lid, on an insert card, or on the ribbon. Custom and logo-branded boxes start at 50 boxes. Branded production adds 7–14 business days before packing and is quoted with the order. We can also co-pack a branded item you already own, so an attendee still receives one box rather than three.
What about attendees with allergies or who do not drink?
We can build a box with no nut-containing items, and we do it often. We cannot call it allergen-free: every box is packed by hand in one studio, on shared surfaces, alongside products that contain nuts, dairy, soy and wheat, and we do not control what happens in our suppliers' facilities. If a recipient has a severe or anaphylactic allergy, tell us before you order — we will send you the actual ingredient and manufacturer allergen statements for that box so you, or they, can make the call. We would rather lose the order than guess. Alcohol-free boxes are a standing option rather than a special request: Zero-proof gift boxes.
